Nesco Gardenmaster FD-1020

I personally don't know what I would do without my food dehydrator. I know that sounds funny but in the 13 months that I have had my Gardenmaster Digital Pro Food Dehydrator model FD-1020, I have used it for regular meals with the family, special events, and holiday parties.

When my son started eating solid foods and baby food was just not enough anymore, I started to experiment with my dehydrator and fruits I had around the house. His favorite thing to eat was dehydrated bananas and kiwi mixed with yogurt. The thing I like most about my particular food dehydrator is that it has a fan that eliminates water from dripping into the heater chamber.

Also, it’s big! So I can get a lot dehydrated in less time! Plus it evenly cooks as opposed to some smaller models where you have to rotate the tray or else your stuck with partially dehydrated food.

The one I had before I upgraded to this model only had 1 temperature setting, but I have found that the temperature setting required for beef jerky was very different than the temp needed for fruits and veggies. I found this out the hard way. That's why I like the one I have now, because it has an adjustable thermostat that makes is easy pick the correct temp for my jerky! When I am not using it (which is not very often), it's lightweight enough that I can easily pick it up and tuck in the cabinets above my fridge.

I bought it at a great price too! I paid as much for my Gardenmaster as I did for the one I had before and it’s bigger and has better features! It's truly a must-have for those interested in food dehydration!
