5-Tray SMALL GARDEN-Excalibur

Our family has the 5-Tray SMALL GARDEN-Excalibur food dehydrator with a 26 hour Timer,model #3526T, and we just love it! The main reason we actually purchased a food dehydrator was to make dried fruit snacks for the kids. Like most children, they have quite a sweet tooth, and unfortunately they were going for high sugar candies which has no nutritional value at all. We first used our food dehydrator to dry mango, bananas, and apples. Those were so good that we expanded into other areas, like making chicken and beef jerky. The beef jerky we make is so much better than anything you can buy at the store! Another thing I've done which is quite a hit is dehydrating tomatoes and mushrooms for salads. It adds a gourmet touch! The best part is that we know exactly what we're putting into it, and we know it's healthy. The only possible drawback is that this dehydrator does make some noise, but we turn it on(it's in the kitchen) and leave it, and as soon as you're a few feet away the noise doesn't bother you at all. Overall, it's a fantastic dehydrator, and we are even considering buying the larger 9-tray model.
